We have made no secret of the fact that Guild of Guardians has bold ambitions to become a world-leading mobile RPG where players can turn their gaming passion into assets. To make this dream a reality we have brought together the best of both worlds — combining deep blockchain and NFT experience with traditional mobile games development. Guild of Guardians is developed by Stepico and published by Immutable.
We have a (quickly growing) team of 23 people working on the title, and our focus is on getting the game out there and soft-launched. Here is a quick intro on our core team, who are all passionately working together to ensure that Guild of Guardians changes the nature of mobile gaming forever.
Immutable is an industry leading $17m VC-funded blockchain company backed by investors such as Naspers, Galaxy Digital and Coinbase. They are responsible for launching the most successful blockchain Trading Card Game, Gods Unchained, which is headed up by Chris Clay, the former director of Magic the Gathering Arena. Immutable has also developed Immutable X, the first Ethereum layer 2 designed for NFTs.

Derek Lau — Game Lead
Derek is the lead-cog in the Guild of Guardians wheel, and he brings a unique blend of experience in start-ups and strategy, with a long and sustained exposure to the NFTs since 2017. He is an ex-management consultant from Oliver Wyman, where he was responsible for developing and implementing strategy projects for the C-suite of Australia’s biggest companies. He was also the founder of Parkways, a peer-to-peer parking start-up where he developed strong entrepreneurial spirit and hustle. When he isn’t working he’s gaming or refreshing Crypto Twitter.
Josiah Wallace — Lead Game Designer
Josiah has worked for more than half a decade as a game designer and leads the design of Guild of Guardians. He was one of the primary designers on Temple Run and Temple Run 2, which together have amassed more than 1 billion downloads. His expertise in game design is now being combined with cutting-edge blockchain and open economy design principles to create world-class gameplay in Guild of Guardians.
Aaron B. Murray — Creative Director
Aaron has spent the last 15+ years shipping games and experiences on just about every platform out there: from PC/Console, to VR, to mobile. He has accumulated experience working across various studios including EA, Ubisoft and the Void. He was also the Co-founder and Creative Director of Strange Reptile, where he worked with AAA IPs and developed studio creative leadership and operational experience. Aaron brings all of this deep-industry expertise to Guild of Guardians.
Marc Griffiths — Lead Full Stack Developer
Marc has 15 years of software development experience and is a highly experienced Ethereum developer who has been working with Solidity since 2015. He was the CTO of Power Ledger, and a major player in their moves leading up to a $34m ICO. He is also the founder and chief architect of Intrinsic Global — a specialist Ethereum blockchain company. Mark’s a veteran with Ethereum and is passionate about building new models for human interaction and value creation.
Nick Kelland — Marketing and Community Manager
Nick has been in the commercial and broadcast media and marketing space in Australia for nearly half a decade, where he has developed an expertise in marketing and media. He was also the co-founder of an aggregator mobile fashion app called VOSSEE. Nick brings a unique blend of media and entrepreneurial experience, and is an avid gamer and basketball fan.
Stepico Games is a leading Ukrainian game development studio with a team of more than 80 designers, artists and developers. They work on top-of-the-line gaming projects and are actively involved in developing innovative solutions for the entertainment industry. They have developed multiple mobile titles in the strategy and RPG space, which have received more than 5 million downloads.

Nikola Pisetskyy — Managing director
Nikola is an entrepreneur at heart — founding a marketing agency at just 21. He started his career in game development working with mobile browser games, which ultimately resulted in him creating a Ukrainian game development studio — Stepico Games. Nikola has worked with major brands such as Amazon, Universal, Outplay and Gamevil, and he has experience leading projects on large, multiplayer RPGs.
Olha Koshchuk — Project Manager
Olha is an experienced project manager with a background in Computer Science and Management. She has broad experience shipping a variety of products and games with teams of 15+ people. Her experience managing globally distributed teams and working with leading international game studios are both highly relevant for the success in building Guild of Guardians.
Andrii Titov — Clientside lead
Andrii started his career as a freelance developer at the age of 18, writing C and C++ code for data structure-intensive projects. His passion for gaming drove him to become a Unity developer which he has been working on now for more than 8 years. Andrii is responsible for Unity Development at Stepico, including development flows, decisions, processes and dev-ops that the team uses. He is an expert at board and video games, and is also a strong supporter of open source and FOSS projects.
Petro Prots — Lead backend developer
Petro has over 9 years of experience in game development, working across genres including MMO RPGs, multiplayer, and co-op games. He now works on server solutions for games. He is responsible for the architecture development, database architecture, technical documentation and management of the developer team of the server aspect of Guild of Guardians.
Orest Skakun — Game designer
Orest has been working as a game designer for over five years. Most recently he was responsible for designing an RPG game which was chosen as game of the year in iOS Korea. Previously, Orest was a game developer, with an eye for understanding the full-cycle of game creation. Orest loves gaming — in particular strategy and RPG genres, and he is responsible for the design and balance of game systems.
Nazar Chepil — Lead 3D Artist
Nazar has more than 10 years of experience working on design and modelling for games. He has broad experience working across a multitude of technologies and assets including characters, environments and animations. Nazar brings strong leadership experience and a wide breadth of knowledge on in-game assets to the Guild of Guardians development team.
Lilia Karpa — Lead 2D Artist
Lilia has been drawing since she was eight years old and has been a 2D artist for the past 8 years. She has worked on over 10 games including RPGs and a Clash Royale game with 1m+ downloads. She prides herself in being creative and flexible across various character styles, and also brings in management experience in leading other concept artists in the team.
